Tungsten is used in the production of darts because of its high weight to volume ratio.  The higher the percentage of tungsten, the slimmer the dart.  This is desired by the serious shooter for tighter groups resulting in higher scores.  The Magnum darts are made from 97% tungsten and the barrels have been designed and styled to maximize the optimum scoring potential of high density tungsten.
